About the Founder
Michael Tillmann
Founder of Bylaw Help
Michael Tillmann established Bylaw Help in order to empower the public in their efforts to educate themselves on local government bylaws in British Columbia. Bylaw Help is aimed at making the sometimes confusing realm of local government regulations more accessible.
Michael's insights come from his background, which involves over 14 years of experience working as a bylaw enforcement officer and private security professional in British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon.
During his time as a bylaw enforcement officer, Michael performed a variety of tasks ranging from animal control to parking enforcement to unsightly premises remediation, and helped to draft and implement bylaws, policies and procedures for local governments. Before that, he provided security services in diverse settings, including a casino, shopping malls and post-secondary institutions.
Michael has a Diploma of Police & Justice Studies from Thompson Rivers University and also has successfully completed multiple courses from the Justice Institute of British Columbia related to investigations and enforcement.
